The Michael Lynch Memorial Foundation is a scholarship program. Its purpose is to provide grants to enable children of firefighters and other victims of the September 11 attacks and other fires and disasters to afford higher education.

Photo by Tom Baker at Liberty Park NJ, Sept 11, 2003The Foundation is a 501(c)3 public charity and donations are tax deductible.  In addition to general donations, the Foundation generates funds through various fundraising events and activities.

Since 2002, we granted 51 scholarships totaling over $1,000,000. Our commitment to give has been enhanced by strong fundraising.  A list of these grants and other information may be obtained upon request.  Our Legal page contains additional details.

Please give generously.  From a terrible tragedy, an opportunity to help finance the education of these young people is a living tribute to the human spirit and our collective resolve to respond to adversity with courage, strength, compassion and hope. This foundation provides the means to help change the world in which we live, one person at a time, by building a vision for the future where the students of today become tomorrow’s stewards of peace and freedom.
