Presider: We have come together to celebrate life, a life that has been, a life that has entered a new stage, and the life of those gathered here, a community united by kinship and friendship. Let us now offer our humble prayer to the God of all healing. For our church leaders, especially Cardinal McCarrick and Cardinal Egan that they may be strengthened by God’s spirit to lead us to see through the current darkness to the light beyond. We pray to the Lord Lord, hear our prayer. For our nation that we remain united, for our leaders that they may be led by God’s wisdom in responding to the tragedy of September 11th. We pray for all our service men and women that they may be safe as they fight to protect our great nation and our freedoms. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. For the joy Michael took in little things, especially his love of fishing, his humor, his commitment to his family, and the special love that he had for Stephanie, that we all may appreciate our own daily gifts from God. We pray to the Lord Lord, hear our prayer. For Jack and Kathleen, Michael’s parents, and for Stephanie, his fiancé, that their faith may continue to bring them comfort, strength and consolation. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. For our son, brother, fiancé, uncle, cousin and friend, Michael that his optimism, hope, and perseverance throughout his life be a daily source of strength for us. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. For all the victims of September 11th and their families, especially the Fire Department, the Police Department, the Port Authority Police, and EMS workers, who lost so many valued and loved brothers and sisters, that all those who grieve and mourn may know comfort and consolation. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. For all the rescue workers who so heroically came to the aid of their brothers and sisters, and for all the rescue workers who continue to serve at the Hallowed Ground Zero, may they may know the healing and sustaining love of God, and know that the prayers of the entire nation are with them. We pray to the Lord Lord, hear our prayer. For the community of Throggs Neck, in which we live, work and worship, may we feel the support of one another in prayer. We pray especially for our neighbors who lost their lives on September 11th, especially Dennis Mulligan, Raymond Murphy, Peter Beilfeld, Liam Callahan, Thomas O'Hagan, John Gallagher, Jerome Dominguez, Donna Clarke, Mary Caufield, Elvira Granitto, and Frank Pezzulo. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. For all the members of the Lynch and McCarrick families who have gone before us into a new life in God. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. |
