Marie Hickey has more than 20 years experience in communications: extensive experience writing and producing for television, as well as her early experience as a print journalist and her foray in consulting on major media events for corporate 500 companies.
A native New Yorker, Marie began her television career in local news working her way up from production assistant to Vice President and News Director for Fox’s flagship station. Marie managed the coverage of breaking news stories and major news events as well as feature stories. Stories included: ticker tape parades, coverage of the Gulf War, elections, storms, the Oscars…you name it, she did it. With her guidance the station developed a signature style of coverage. Under her leadership, that station flourished and enjoyed a prolonged period during which it achieved some of its highest ratings.
In her position as the New York bureau chief for the syndicated television show EXTRA,
Marie develops new franchises, works with sponsors on integration and branding, handles development, and maintains and nurtures contacts in the entertainment industry.
An Emmy winner for outstanding news feature, Marie enjoys a great reputation in the industry. She is respected for her creativity, ability to manage multiple projects and her competitive spirit.
A graduate of Fordham University, Marie lives in Westchester County with her husband, Dick Brennan broadcast journalist, and two daughters: Kara … a freshman at The College of the Holy Cross and Grace a freshman at The Ursuline School in New Rochelle. She is an active member of her community and sits on the board of consultants for the communications department at Manhattan College as well as being an adjunct instructor.
