Michael, Think of you and your family often. You impacted my life more than you will ever know. I'll never forget your contagious smile. God bless-

You are in my thoughts today. Some days I think of you with a smile and other days it makes me very sad. Everything is just so different since you have left us but I guess that is just the way it has to be. Your friend John misses you terribly. Some day we will all dance and sing again. Sadly missing your smile today, Sheila

I often visit the site but never write anything, I never really know what to say. I miss you Mike, growing up with you was the best time of my life. I have great memories to carry with me but it still is not the same. I do know this that when I think about you or talk about you I am smiling. Miss you. Jo-Ellen

I just wanted to let the Lynch family know that even though I did not know Michael Lynch, I idolize and look up to him as one of my brothers. I hope that I can be 1% of the Firefighter he was when I enter the Fire Academy in January 2006.

As each year passes the memories only become that much clearer. I had a dear friend and former Maryland Firefighter pass away this year. One of his best friends wrote him a poem, and I think you all would find it befitting in these circumstances. It was titled " I Wish", and it goes something like this: I Wish... I could go for one more walk with you I Wish... We could go fishing one more time I Wish... We had taken that camping trip we wanted to I Wish... We could take that one last motorcycle ride I Wish... I had said all the things I meant to But mostly, I wish... I had told how much I loved you, even if you knew. I do not understand why September 11,2001 happened, but you have made something truly wonderful out of a horrible tragedy by helping other families. That in and of itself should make the rest of us want to be better people,to follow your example. God Bless You. I will keep you in my prayers always.

Just to let you know I still think about your family and pray for you. I was a college student when 9-11 happened and when I first heard of Michael he was listed as missing. I prayed so hard that he would be found safe and our Newman Center prayed too and I thought for sure he'd turn up. I am so sorry that things turned out the way they did, but know that I am still inspired by a man I never met. God bless.

Dear Michael, our beloved son, you would think that the passing of four years would somehow ease the pain we feel at your loss, but I guess God in His infinite understanding allows us to love our children much and grieve equally as much when He takes them to Himself. We went to Washington Friday and Mom received the Medal of Valor in your honor. It is fitting that our country honor you and the other rescue workers in this manner, but we need no medal because your actions on 9/11/2001 clearly showed your courage and sacrifice. We went to a families rally on Saturday at Ground Zero to fight against those who would desecrate the sacred ground where you and 2748 vibrant people died. Sunday we went to Ground Zero where siblings read the names of everyone who perished and Maureen and Fred read names and read your name at the end. I somehow know you are reading this as I write because I feel your presence always in my life. I know you are happy Mike and I just wish we could really understand that, but you see without seeing your smiling eyes it is very difficult to do. We look forward to the day. Love Mom and Dad

We will never forget 9/11!!! Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lynches and all those who lost a loved one four years ago. America will never be the same - but we can all come together and show that the love, strength, hope, and freedom we Americans have will always endure. God Bless Michael and God Bless America!

Thinking of you, missing you. The tears flow, as they have daily since the day we lost you. Tears of pain, anguish, anger, and pride. Proud of your heroism, proud to be your sister. Forever in my heart you will be forever young, a mere 30, enbracing life, loving all and judging none. Striving to be like you, praying my children will learn from you. Forever a hole, unable to be filled, for what I lost that day can not be recreated in any human being again. God Bless you and keep you and continue to watch over us. All my love, Colleen.
