It was great to see all these pics of you Mike...you and your family. Rarely does a day go by I don't think of you...as I tear up now. You were one of only a handful of truly inspiring people I have been lucky enough to know. I remember the last time I 'hung out' with you. You, Rex, G, Bat, Murray....a few others, tryin to paint Rex's apartment. I miss the days of wiffle ball and playin' on the block. You come to my mind when I'm just being a foolish person...I stop..... and think. You inspire me today. Please do the same tomorrow. Thank You. Love your friend, Rich

I have lived in Throggs Neck all my life, and as it was for everyone else Septemeber 11th was a life changing day for me. My father was a captain in the New York City Fire Dept. and he along with all of his and Michael's fellow brothers shared their bravery with the entire world on that horrible morning. Recently I was preiveleged enough to be awarded with a grant from the Michael Lynch Memorial FOundation in Michael's honor. I am so grateful to the foundation for choosing me as one of the recipients of this scholarship, and I have already shared my gratefullness with them. This will be a constant reminder of Michael's bravery and it will be so helpful in continuing my education. I can't say thank-you enough and I am looking forward to the dinner where I can thank-you in person as well! You are always in my thoughts and my prayers...Annie

My father was a firefighter in Syracuse, and I've always admired and respected firefighters. On September 11th, I felt a great loss even though I did not know any of the people who perished that day, and felt a special connection with the families of the firefighters. I recently learned through a co-worker that one of my classmates from law school, Kathy Lynch, had lost her brother that day. I'd just like to extend my deepest sympathy to Kathy and her family. I will keep Michael and the others who lost their lives that day in my prayers.

Hi, my name is Katie. I'm Terry Carigliano's niece, part of the Flanagan clan. I took a trip to the library about an hour ago and a book in the non-fiction section caught my eye. I turned it over to read what it was about and saw Michael's face staring back at me. The name of the book is Firehouse and the author is David Halberstam. I'm already finished reading it; I started as soon as I got home. The book is about all the men in Engine 40 Ladder 35. I would definately recommend this book to everyone because even though it is very sad, the author concentrates on the lives of these men, instead of their deaths. I think Michael's section was very well written and it made me smile. I just wanted to share this with everyone who might like to take a look at this book. Michael is always in my thoughts and prayers. Always, Katie

Dearest Michael: I am having a hard time concentrating today for this is the day we got engaged. What a wonderful day that was. It is so hard to believe that day was three years ago. I wish my life was the way it was then but now it has changed. Everything has changed, some things for good and some for bad. I really miss you making me laugh when there are so many things on my mind. I miss your dancing around and playing playstation, your love for music and blasting the music in the blue tercel, I miss your jokes I have not heard a good one yet. You have had a huge impact on my life and I will never forget you. I will always love you, even when life does change, you will always have my heart. I know we had the best love anyone can have. I just really miss you so much that I can not express it in words, nor do I have to for you understand. Many years will go by but you will always be with me in my heart and soul. Until we meet again in heaven!! Love always and forever, Stephanie

Memorial Day weekend was just a few weeks ago and John and I were thinking of you. It is hard to imagine that just 2 short years ago a bunch of us went out to my parent’s house in the Hamptons - because we were supposed to go camping and the weather was going to be bad. It ended up being a pretty nice weekend. Me, John, Katie, Joey, Danny, Gerry, Debbie, Deirdre, Brian, Paul, Jonie, you and Stephanie had such an amazing weekend. Like a bunch of kids we played volleyball, kickball, wuffleball, and croquet. So much has changed since then. I guess we’ve all grown up, which is great, but I miss those days and I often wonder what our lives would be like if the past 2 years happened differently. I think of you so often that it scares me but I am reassured knowing that you and my dad are together playing games in heaven. We all miss you Mike, until I see you again, Sheils
