My good friend, Mike Dolan, made me aware of this foundation. While I did not know Michael, I grieve for him and give my condolences to his family and friends. As a native New Yorker and the son of a NY policeman, I have great respect for men who have offered their lives to make our cities better places to live. God Bless Them!!!!

To The Lynch Family,
I just wanted to express my sympathy for the loss of your son Michael Francis Lynch. I came to know him in a way on the anniversary of September 11th. Here in San Diego, a local radio station Star 100.7, www.histar.com. Created a memorial ceremony for the victims of September 11th, 2001. Local San Diego citizens gathered at Qualcomm Stadium to read the names of the victims and ring The Freedom Bell in thier memory. I was one of those who participated. I was handed a card with your son's name upon it. And I was honored to read your son's name on that bright September day. He's truly a hero to me.
Bright Blessings to you and yours!

As we watched the various programs screening in New Zealand to mark the first year since the 9/11 tragedy, we noted a funeral procession and family interviews for one Michael Lynch. His name was emblazoned with pride on the front of a fire engine.
Our son is also Michael Lynch, and he will be one year old on Sept 19th. I am sorry we could time it for the 11th!
Our thoughts are with you all. I hope you take some comfort in having a namesake on the other side of the world who arrived whilst you were coming to grips with your loss (can you ever?).
We hope our wee man grows up with the respect that your Michael obviously had.
I have posted a picture of him at http://www.americanmemorials.com/memorial/first_page.asp?idMemorial=2821
you need to go into the registry
Love and best wishes to you all...
Graham and Vikki Lynch

to all the lynches and stephanie: Please know that not a day goes by that I don't think of Michael and all our fallen heroes who gave their lives to preserve the freedoms I will never, ever take for granted again. I pray for you and your family every day that comfort and peace will be yours again. Since September 11, when i look to the sky the stars shine brighter and bolder than ever and i know these are our guardian angels looking over us and holding us in their light of comfort.
All my love and prayers,
Aggie

I have just returned from a week stay in New York having been invited over by FDNY firefighters from Vinegar Hill with a group of serving fire fighters from the West Midlands Fire Service in the UK.
We were honoured to be allowed onto the site of the WTC at the memorial on 9/11. As we laid a wreath I became aware of the huge group wearing T shirts bearing Michaels picture and the web site address. The flags of the US and Ireland inspired me to make contact as soon as I returned to the UK.
As a retired firefighter (due to an on duty accident) I was deeply moved by the whole occasion of 9/11/2002 but made a vow to myself that I would find out more about Michael and his life which was ended prematurely and at such a young age.
Michael was without doubt a real hero. His pictures show that he also appeared to live life to the full. It is inspirational that his memory shall be remembered through this site and the fund which you have set up. I pledge to raise some funds for this worthwhile cause and will be in touch when something has been put in place.
Good luck to you all and your strength showed in abundance on 9/11/2002.
Fondest regards
Paul "Ned" Kelly

I beleive my dad's stepsister is your cousin. I have recently found this out and have been introduced to this web site. I watched the 9/11 film on the first anniversay and still find it hard to accept and understand why. I am so sorry for your loss and I am sure this is something which will never be forgotten. I hope you can take comfort from the fact that Michael died whilst trying to save others and is in no doubt a HERO. Michael and the other fire fighters who died that day were the bravest of men. My thoughts are with you and your family. God Bless you all. May He rest in peace.
