To Stephanie L., Jack and the whole Lynch mob My friend's daughter (age 11) wrote this poem. She is a civil war buff and it relates to Arlington but I think you will find it appropriate for Jack and other families efforts to make sure what is placed down at the WTC. Loyal Citizens, Loyal Country I will tell you about a place, Where ugly never leaves a trace. It has valleys and mountains and hilltops and forests, Through which you can hear the church bells chorus. If you live there you should know, What trees look like when crisp with snow. In the autumn leaves are bright, When the sun gives off its light. God has blessed us with this place, We should not make it a disgrace. There should be respect for those who died, To keep this great country alive. When our country split in two, Our loyal citizens knew what to do. All the pain that they went through, They endured for me and you. And so what is this place I love, 'Tis the great America. I wish I could write what I feel but I still can't. God Bless America and especially all the fine people in Throggs Neck. BERnie Babes

Forwarded to the Lynch family by "Richie" with LOVE! THE PIPER'S LEGACY "A Lament for Fallen Hero's" See the Pipe Band on the march? They are stepping slow today! Their muffled drums are dressed in black and their bagpipes sadly play "America, The Minstrel Boy" echoes to the sky For this is the way an Irish Band Says the Last Goodbye. They are playing for the Hero's lost who can no more pass this way For they climbed the stairs to heaven on a bright September day. And although there's mist is in Irish eye's, there's rage within each heart And America must move to end this war, a war we did not start! A weary Piper stands apart above the hollowed ground And friends and family down below hear his mournful sound "Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me!" Echoes through the churchyard in a piper's legacy. Robert G. Lacey Pipe Major Greenwich Police Emerald Society Pipes & Drums (Retired) God Bless the Lynch Family!

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Lynch, My son Vincent Aprea wrote a special poem for his 5th grade class and I just thought I would share it with you all. It's called..I Hold In My Hand.... I hold in my hand the American Flag with memories of people that this world once had. I see red white and blue as the American flag glides in the wind. I see unhappy faces with tears in their eyes crying for loved ones they lost with a blink of an eye. I see smoke from the fires that are still smoldering beneath the rubble. No one could ever imagine such trouble. I smell smoke mixed with tears and sorrow for people who will never see tomorrow. I feel the pain that all the children must be going through. No more moms,no more dads, unbelievable but true. I hear people crying for losses of loved ones who are being comforted by strangers and friends. I taste the dirty air and dust. How can this nation ever trust? With Deepest sympathy for your loss. Joanne Castaldo Aprea.

Dear Mike: I still can not beleive that it has been a year. Despite the memorial service, despite your recovery and buriel, and depsite the laspe of a full year, I still can not beleive that you're gone. You had a profound impact upon all of us during your life, and your absence has left a void in all of our hearts. I only hope that you are looking down upon us, and can see how much you were truly loved and are missed. As I wrote the first time I posted on this site, I look around at our friends and see so much of your influence in them, and it assures me you will not be forgotten. Just this past Tuesday, Debbie finished up a four day trial and lost. When she got home, she was tearful and upset, and said to me "But I tried so hard, I can't beleive I didn't win". It immediately reminded me of you. At your memorial service, your brother Freddy told the story about your fishing trip together, where you were astonished that you didn't catch a fish. He recalled you saying "But I tried so hard". You always felt you could do anything if you tried hard enough. I reminded Debbie of the story, and told her how much she reminded me of you at that very moment. Better than any words I could provide, that connection with you comforted her. In small ways like this, you are forever with all of us who knew you. You shall forever remain with each of us in our hearts ... as our friend ... as our hero. Until we meet again on the other side, and you greet us with that patented smile, Deb and I will miss you daily. Your Friend, Gerry Crowe

I am praying for your family. When you were interviewed today(9/11/02) you had mentioned a video taken of Michael walking into building four, I later saw that video during an interview. You should be so proud of him. I could not even see an ounce of fear on his face. He was a brave man. A brave man I will not forget. The state of Texas will learn of Michaels heroic actions. I will e-mail your story to everyone I know. God bless you and your family! Love, Jennifer Henry

My Dearest Michael, I do not know what to say but that I have not heard your laughter or seen your smile or felt your touch for a year. You have been my inspiration this year and always, I have just come to the realization that I will not physically be with you until we meet again in heaven where our happiness will be the same as it was on earth. I am calling to you to ask for you to give me the strengh to put one foot in front of the other. Our family and friends have been a blessing for me for they have given me the push to get up every morning. You should be very proud of them for watching over me for that is what you would want. I also watch over them, we all miss you so much your absence in this community is so present. I will always honor you and respect you for all you have done in your life. Your job is much more greater now, you need to watch over us and help us find the strengh to be strong during our difficult times. I long for you every day, when I wake in the moring and when I sleep at night you are always in my mind and heart. Today is September 11 and I still can not believe this year has gone but I honored you the only way I know how by spending time in Long Beach at the place we were the happiest and you asked me to be your wife. Michael please be happy and always smile for you are in heaven, God is lucky to have you just as I was to have you in my life. All I ask is for you to watch over me, your family, and friends for you are te best guardian angel anyone can have. I will always miss you and love you, for you will always have my heart. Every night I will send you a kiss to heaven. Love always and forever, Stephanie

To Maureen Baker and the Lynch family, mom never told me Michael had been found. I hadn't check the website in months. (it was just too sad) So I checked it today. WOW. Finally some peace. And what an honor to know that he was helping someone. He's one of the many unrecognized heroes of the day.

Dear Mike, Its been exactly one year since the tragedy of 9/11 and I'm still having a difficult time putting pen to paper to express my feelings. Words can't tell the story of all the wonderful memories we had growing up together. You were part of everything I did, whether it was school, fishing, soccer, hockey, you name it we did it together. I remember you as a great friend with a wonderful sense of humor and not a day goes by in which I don't think of you. Until we meet agin. Your friend, Kenny
