Dear Jack, Kathleen and extended Lynch and McCarrick families, I met you many years ago when visiting Throggs Neck - my aunt Margaret McLoughlin and my cousin Tom lived on Hollywood Ave. I only learned of Michael yesterday when reading CNY article. Our hearts and prayers go out to you all, and I prayed for Michael and all of you in Kilnacrott Abbey, Co. Cavan today (Our Lady's Birthday). What a wonderful example of family solidarity and love you have shown, and what an inspiration Michael is to all our young people. In the words of Christy Kenneally's beautiful poem 'Beatitudes', " God, who made this world, will make His Kingdom come in you." My wife Máire, sons Donie and Damien and I assure you all and Michael of a constant remembrance in our prayers.

Dear Michael, It is Saturday evening 9-7-02 and as I sit here with tears running down my face I still cannot believe that I will never see your smiling face again in this life. The anguish from the loss of your presence is unbearable and brings with it not only emotional but sometimes physical pain. I cannot understand why mad, evil men believed they had reason to destroy you and 3029 other beautiful people to advance their reign of terror. So I guess that God does not make sense to me at this moment and all I can do is trust that He will take care of us and you. I just want to say thanks that you were the kind of person who loved everyone and always lifted people up and I will try to follow your example from now on. It is not easy to go on but I know that is what you want us to do. Till God in His infinite mercy joins us together in Heaven again we will keep on loving and missing you. Love Dad

Thank you for keeping the memories of Michael Lynch and the many victims of the Sept. 11 attacks alive. I never had the opportunity to meet Michael, but I met some of his family members and fellow firefighters at the Protectors of Freedom run in Fort Worth, and I am amazed by your strength. I hope the race was a big success in raising money for the foundation, and I wish you all the best at this trying time. Sincerely, Kathleen O'Brien Fort Worth, TX

As the one year anniversary of that tragic day approaches my eyes can’t help but fill with tears remembering what we lost that day. I look out onto our front lawn and I notice how that ornamental pear tree that we planted back on 10/13/2001 with Brianne and Danny in Michael’s memory has grown, so straight and tall. Its leaves dance ever so delicately as a beautiful bluebird hangs onto the top branch before it flies off and back again. The flag placed into the ground underneath it blows gently in the breeze. My tears slowly dry without ever falling down my face and I can not help but smile thinking about Michael. It then occurs to me that he is not lost but has found a place where he is with us every minute of the day. He is laughing with and at us, supporting us in our life decisions and encouraging us to face each day with courage and strength. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Lynch for the gift of Michael. His life continues to bring joy and strength to my family. You and your family are always in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.

Thank you so much for sharing your first hand stories with us at Plymouth Park United Methodist Church in Irving, Texas. We now have faces to put some names that are prayers have been going out to and will continue to go out too. Your website is so awesome and moving. I wish that I could contribute some money to help but that is just not a possiblity at this time. But as I said you will be in my prayers. Maybe we can come and participate in the Run for Michael next year.

I had originally found your website soon after 9/11 but could not find you again until yesterday when it was moved. I read through the guestbook entries and saw that Michael has been found. I hope that give you some peace. There will never be "closure". I just don't think that happens, you just learn to live with it. What a wonderful person Michael was! What a wonderful family you have. I am glad you were able to get him back. So many people are still waiting. God Bless your Family! Take care, Susan
