I went to the academy with Mike...what a character...runs 5 miles and smokes...and beats most of us!...anyway as fate would have it I was at the site when he was found in the south tower roadway...he was with McPadden (also from my class)...when we found him and read his name on the gear I couldn t believe that this was Mike that I had the honor of graduating with last class of the millenium...My condolences to his family..He died by the oath he took ...a true hero...His father also deserves a huge thanks for he was at the site constantly helping out and bringing other families their loved ones home...as for closure?..I don t think we ll ever have that...we just go on and remember our heroes forever...for we at the fdny will NEVER forget...July 4th is not a day off its a day to be thankful for our freedom...a freedom that most of the world is envious of..lets all take a moment and say a prayer for the 3000 that perished on that fateful day...god bless america...

Michael, Today was the first day of summer and the last day of school. I can not believe it has been 91/2 months since that tragic day. I think of you each and every day. The kids miss you and talk about you often. A whole school year in their lives and it has been a blur to the rest of us. I still ask how it could have happened and how you could have been taken from us. But you live on in our hearts and memories and though I wish you could be here with us, I know that you are at peace. We love you, little brother and I really miss you. Keep smiling and watch over us. Love, Maureen

Rex, I haven't seen you after what happened on Sept.11 to say how sorry I was for losing Mike. I hope that you and your family are doing well-I guess I should say, as well as could be in your situation. I must say that you had one brave brother and you should be proud! You and your family continue to be in my prayers.

...It gets harder and harder to read the letters people sent to you. Every now and then, when things are getting me down I click on and see the smile on your face in that picture and it make things better somehow. Those were some funny days at the academy. Always laughing, You and Mayo...always cracking me up!! Ha Ha Ha. ...Im so sad sometimes mike,....see you soon...

Dear Lynch Family I hope time is helping your wounds heal and the strength of your family is easing your pain. Michael is in a better place, though Throggs Neck will never be the same. The Lynch Family was as big a part of Throggs Neck as the bridge. I hope that your faith helps your wounds heal quickly. You will remain in our hearts and prays forever. A tragic time in our nations history will also show the bravery of The Firefighters & Police Officers running into the Fires of Hell to save there fellow men. A true depiction of the American spirit. I just want you to know that Michael will always be rembered by the many people who had the privilge of knowing that warm, charming, smiling irish face. God Bless

Not a day goes by that I don't think about Michael and pray for all of you. I still visit this site every day to see Michael's face and read the guestbook. Michael is my hero. He has taught me more than you will ever know. Thank you for letting me know him through this website. May God bless and keep you all in His care.
