May God bless Michael and his family. I am working with Joe Luccioni on the 5k race commemorating Michael and his brothers' memories, and we will do our best to raise a wheelbarrow-full of dollars for this fund!

To Michael's Family:
Michael has been a part of my life every day since I got my mercyband.
By some strange luck, I saw his face in a magazine so I felt a bit closer to him. Michael is in my life everyday. He is in my prayers every night and I am closer to as a fellow american, only because our country was attacked. Thank you, Michael. Thank you for being there. You will always live in my heart. I only wish I had been able to know you in life -- my deepest love and thankfulness. Maggi Jayson.

To Mike
The lord said "there is no better love than to lay one's life down for a friend." You did so not even knowing those who you were saving. I say that that is an even better love.
God Bless you Mike

I grew up in Throggs Neck on Hollywood Avenue running around the neighborhood with my best friend Ellen Kelly with whom I first met Mike and Tommy - I'm not sure but I think they used to throw rocks at us :)
As we all grew up and started going to the local bars, I met up w/Mike and Tommy (Rex) again. Mike always had a joke for my friends and I and would stop at nothing to get us to laugh. He NEVER had a bad thing to say about anyone (which is hard to come by with the crew in Throggs Neck!) and that is why I always felt comfortable in his presence. He was one of the SWEETEST guys you could have ever met and I was so glad to be one of those lucky people to have him in my life.
I work in Manhattan and was scared to death that day - I didn't know what was going on but I knew I had to get out of the city. I walked over the 59th street bridge (all dressed up) to LI City to walka few blocks to take a train to Jackson Heights to meet up w/a co-worker who lives in LI - where we got on the LIRR to her house and there for the first time I saw on TV what was going on. She drove me to the Bronx where I was met by my frantic fiancee Tommy who drove half way to meet us. I went home to Westchester and watched in horror what had happened - thinking about all those poor people and their families and friends to have to go through this.
When the news came from Ellen (after all these years - we still keep in touch) that Mike and Dennis were 2 to have been lost. I couldn't believe it - it's not fair - Mike was getting married a week before me. They were both so young and had their whole lives ahead of them.
The memorial services for both were absolutely beautiful and the overwhelming attendance just goes to prove how special Mike and Dennis were.
As it turns out, both Mike and Dennis are buried down the block from where I live with my husband. I try to go as much as I can to see them and to tease them that no matter what - they can't escape me.
They both will forever be in my heart and I hope that they are happy and suffering no longer.
My prayers to the Lynch family.
Love always, Ann Marie

Dear MIchael,
Well, our prayers have been answered. We have been able to lay you in your final resting place. And although we have been praying for this, yesterday was the most painful day since 9/11. It's too hard to let go of you. I just can't say goodbye! You could never imagine the void that you have left. May Jesus comfort all the family, especially your Mom and Dad, Steph and the siblings. I miss you and love you,
Eileen

Dear Michael,
I can just feel the special person that you are. Your warm and beautiful smile says so much. There is so much that I is in my heart..and I don't know where to begin. How does someone say "thank you"? Thank you for your courage and your heroism. My brother James was one of the people you so bravely rushed into save. Losing him has broken my heart..and the heart of my family. My heart breaks for your family as well. But, we will never ever forget the ultimate sacrifice you gave..so willingly and so nobly. I have had the honor of working with your father..Jack. He is an incredible person..but I know that you know this. The love and gratitude my family and I have for your dad and for your family cannot ever be put into words. Michael, you will always be remembered and honored by my family. I know that you and my brother James are together now. Although, it is hard for us left behind..I know that God has called you home for a magnificent purpose..You are the angels on our shoulders. Thank you is not enough...but I say it from my heart. You will always be remembered and honored by so many-especially by the Cartier Family. May God keep you in the palm of his hand until we can all be together again.
All My Love,
Jennie Farrell
